Paranormaal onderzoek "Paranormaal onderzoek" heeft de voorkeur gekregen boven eerdere termen, zoals "spookonderzoek", "spookonderzoek" en "spokenjacht". Paranormaal onderzoek is breder dan geesten en Hauntings en strekt zich uit tot waarnemingen van mysterieuze wezens, demonische activiteit, mysterieuze plaatsen en zelfs UFO-waarnemingen. Historisch overzicht Paranormale onderzoeken omvatten zowel wetenschappelijke als paranormale benaderingen. Psychische verschijnselen zijn moeilijk op verzoek te repliceren. Zowel wetenschappers als leken hebben onderzoek gedaan naar geesten, verschijningen, poltergeisten en spoken. In de jaren negentig veranderde de aard van paranormaal onderzoek drastisch. Een breder scala aan hoogwaardige, hoogtechnologische apparatuur stelde meer mensen in staat om meer geavanceerd onderzoek te doen. En de populariteit van geesten en spoken deed de gelederen van lekenonderzoekers toenemen. Veel onderzoekers zijn georganiseerd in groepen en hebben hun eigen procedures ontwikkeld. Kenmerken van onderzoek De goede onderzoeker moet een ruimdenkende scepticus zijn en eerst zoeken naar alle mogelijke natuurlijke oorzaken. Deze vallen in twee klassen, mechanisch en persoonlijk. Mechanische oorzaken zijn onder meer trillingen en lichten van machines, weggeluiden, elektromagnetische en elektrische bronnen en dergelijke. Persoonlijke oorzaken zijn mensen. Iemand kan bijvoorbeeld onbewust vloerplanken laten kraken en het geluid aan een geest toeschrijven. Sommige mensen creëren doelbewust trickfenomenen. Het elimineren van mogelijke oorzaken vereist een grondig onderzoek van een locatie. Idealiter zouden onderzoekers zowel overdag als 's nachts meer dan één bezoek moeten brengen om natuurlijk licht, schaduwen en geluiden te bepalen. Kaarten moeten worden geraadpleegd om breuklijnen, hoogspanningsleidingen, ondergrondse stromen, mijnen, tunnels, enz. te tonen die verantwoordelijk kunnen zijn. Onderzoekers moeten ook historisch onderzoek doen, bijvoorbeeld naar gebeurtenissen die zijn vastgelegd in kranten, tijdschriften en overheidsdocumenten; geologische omstandigheden; en bouwactiviteit. Price kon het bestaan van geesten nog steeds niet bewijzen. Hij schreef over zijn onderzoek in The Most Haunted House in England (1940). De GRS heeft een opstelling met meerdere apparatuur die wordt aangestuurd door een computer genaamd GEIST, de Duitse term voor geest. GEIST staat voor Geofysisch Uitgerust Instrument voor Wetenschappelijk Testen. Een laptop en een stembus zijn aangesloten op verschillende apparaten: een geigerteller, EMF-meter, negatieve ionendetector, ultraviolet- en infrarooddetectoren, temperatuursensor en camera. Telkens wanneer een apparaat wordt geactiveerd, maakt de camera een foto. Elke gebeurtenis wordt automatisch opgenomen op de harde schijf van de computer. GEIST kan zichzelf automatisch resetten na elke gebeurtenis. GRS-rechercheurs kunnen een huis of een omgeving bewaken zonder dat er een rechercheur aanwezig is. De rechercheurs kunnen zien welk apparaat wanneer is afgegaan. GEIST ondergaat voortdurende verbeteringen met technologische vooruitgang. Evenzo gebruikt Joshua P. Warren een 'paranormale pc', een computer die is aangesloten op zeven meter en die verschillende gegevensvelden controleert. Parapsycholoog TONY CORNELL en Howard Wilkinson ontwikkelden in 1982 een apparaat genaamd SPIDER (Spontaneous Psychophysical Incidence Data Electronic Recorder), een reeks camera's die zijn aangesloten op een temperatuursensor. Veranderingen in temperatuur activeren de camera's. SPIDER evolueerde in verschillende modellen. Equipment used in our Investigations We use a variety of gear & varies upon location & problems mentioned by client. Various entities will respond to specific gear while others may get picked up on others Video 8-Channel Digital Video Recorder System - This system is used to connect each of our infrared (night vision) cameras. These cameras are stationed in various areas throughout a location to record video onto a digital video recorder, which can be reviewed for evidence during the investigation or at a later time. Full-Spectrum Camcorders/Full-Spectrum Lights/IR Lights - Several of our camcorders can record in both Full-Spectrum Lighting and Infrared Lighting (or night vision). During an investigation, these light settings will assist us in recording different spectrums of light that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Full Spectrum Action Camera - Similar to a GoPro, this camcorder is smaller and modified to record in full spectrum. It can be used both as a handheld and a stationary camera. Regular Light Camcorder - This is a regular camcorder that can record in visible light throughout our investigations. Xavee 108-LED IR Illuminator - This illuminator features 108 LED lights, providing infrared lighting for stationary cameras up to 150 feet, which can be useful for larger rooms or long corridors. The illuminator is mounted onto a tripod with a stationary camcorder. Audio Digital Voice Recorders - Our team uses a variety of digital voice recorders. Because each recorder has its own level of frequency, we believe it's essential to use various makes and models, which allow us to capture EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) that may occur at one specific frequency but not another. ITC Devices TC Devices, also known as Instrumental Transcommunication Devices, are devices that utilize various methods to facilitate real-time communication with spirits. SB-7 Spirit Box/External Speaker - The SB-7 spirit box is a device that cycles through AM or FM radio frequencies to create white noise. It is theorized that spirits can communicate through this white noise and can be heard in real-time thus allowing for conversations to take place audibly. The radio frequencies can be adjusted for AM, FM, forward and reverse and for a number of speeds. SB-11 Spirit Box/Speaker - The SB-11 functions similarly to the SB-7 although it adds a 2nd cycle of radio frequencies to allow for additional white noise to be used and communicated through. EMF Detectors Spirits are said to both emit and utilize electromagnetic fields, or EMFs. Based on this theory, our team uses various instruments designed to detect and measure electromagnetic fields (EMF) and changes in EMF in the environment. Mel Meter - The Mel Meter serves two main functions: (1) detects EMF (electromagnetic fields) in the environment and (2) provides current temperature readings. We use the model MEL-8704-R as a handheld device to monitor fluctuations or changes in both EMF and temperature. Trip Wire - This device has become the team's most popular item used on each investigation. The wire is equipped with 10 EMF sensors, spaced 14 inches apart, that illuminate in various colors when they detect a change in the room's magnetic field. Our team has used this device to help detect when a spirit is moving within the room being investigated, as well as answering questions asked by lighting up the device based on the determined response to yes or no. EDI Meter/EDI+ Meter - This device simultaneously measures changes in EMF and temperature, and utilizes a built-in geophone to detect vibrations, providing both visual and auditory alarms to indicate changes. This can be used to demonstrate a presence when changes are observed in all three gauges on the meter simultaneously. The newer version, the EDI+, provides recording of readings and, in addition to the EDI Meter, the EDI+ includes Air Pressure and Humidity readings. K2 Meter - The K2 meter is a controversial piece of equipment in paranormal investigations as it measures EMF; however, it is easily set off and can give erroneous readings. For this reason, we use the K2 Meter in conjunction with our Mel Meters and EDI meter. If we are getting multiple abnormal readings on multiple pieces of equipment, then this holds more weight than just using a K2 meter. Dead Bell - The Dead Bell is a newer item added to our investigations. Used to detect energy shifts, this device was created with a 'natural' magnet that allows the device to differentiate between the energy of a spirit vs energy generated by other electronic devices, such as a walkie-talkie, thereby allowing for more confirmed contact with a spirit. When an EMF change is detected, the bell will ring, similar to a bell found at a front desk of a hotel. REM Pod - The REM Pod is a circular device with an antenna. When the antenna is extended, it generates its own field, and when broken, it will alarm and illuminate. This device has been helpful in communicating and documenting the presence of activity. Motion Detectors Motion Alarm - Typically used as a security device, the motion alarm gives an audible sound when something passes in front of it, such as a spirit. The sound of the motion alarm can be set as a small chime or a loud alarm, depending on the location of the investigators. Music Box - A favorite tool among our team and event guests, this device is more than just a typical motion detector. Shooting out 10 feet, in a ray-like position, the sensor (located in front of the music box) detects the presence of something passing by, registers the temperature of the presence, and signals the music box to play a song. Spirit Balls - Spirit balls (or cat toys, as some refer to them) are motion-activated toys that illuminate in multiple colors when touched or rolled. These items are among the team's most popular devices, used when investigating locations that require minimal equipment or housing children's spirits. Other Equipment GS2 Laser Grid - This device is used for motion detection and environmental changes, and can be positioned on a tripod or used independently. The device will conduct a baseline reading of the room. It will provide alerts when detecting motion and/or temperature fluctuations, as well as give the distance and direction of the spirit in the room. Shadow Detector - This device measures a light field; when a shadow breaks that light field, an LED light turns on, alerting to shadow movement. This can be used to detect movement of an entity or a shadow figure in a given area. Static Detector - This device measures changes in both positive and negative static electricity. When negative static increases, the LED light dims, and when positive static increases, the LED light brightens. This is another tool to measure energy changes that may occur when spirits are present. Quad - 3 pieces of equipment rolled into one; this tool detects EMF changes, temperature fluctuations, and vibrations. Most often placed onto a hard surface, this piece of equipment can detect very subtle changes in the environment and the smallest of vibrations due to its high sensitivity. This can be used to detect both unheard and heard footsteps and can be used to attempt to elicit communication through touching or tapping on the device. 2-Way Radios - Our team utilizes 2-way radios as a means of staying in communication while setting up equipment for an investigation and throughout the investigation. They are introduced to kids and other house pets to get them comfortable at a young age. We take them on walks a few times a week, and they go with us on errands, roadtrips, camping, etc. The kittens are dewormed each week and played with every day to ensure a friendly and affectionate kitten. We have a room dedicated just for their nursery, designed their own high end wall maze, have a tunnel maze we set up for their birthdays & holidays, and have a healthy diverse diet of the best premium food. Our cats have access to hard food, but are given soft food as well, and raw food / homemade/prepared food for a cat's diet, and high quality snacks. :) Our cats have health insurance and regular vet check ups & labwork to keep them as healthy as possible. The breeders have had DNA testing and negative for FeLV.FIV, T4, BCP, and regular CBC & Urinalysis tests on each vet appt. Our babies get the sam treatment as our human children! - A bout the Breed W ikipedia~ In the 1960s, a regular non-pedigreed white domestic longhaired cat named Josephine, who had produced several litters of typical cats, was injured in an accident involving a car and taken to a laboratory at the University of California. Josephine was of a Persian/Angora type, sired by several unknown male Birman or Burmese-like cats, one of which had the Siamese point coloration. After she recovered, her next litter produced exceptionally friendly kittens, which Baker claimed was a result of a secret government genetic experiment on Josephine (a claim rejected by genetics experts). When the subsequent litter produced more of the same, Mrs. Ann Baker (an established cat breeder) purchased several kittens from the owner, who lived behind her, and, believing she had something special, set out to create what is now known as the Ragdoll. The breed was selectively bred over many years for desirable traits, such as large size, gentle demeanor, and a tendency to go limp when picked up, as well as the striking, pointed coloration. Out of those early litters came Blackie, an all black Burmese-like male, and Daddy Warbucks, a seal point with white feet. Daddy Warbucks sired the founding bi-color female Fugianna, and Blackie sired Buckwheat, a dark brown/black Burmese-like female. Both Fugianna and Buckwheat were daughters of Josephine. All Ragdolls are descended from Baker's cats through matings of Daddy Warbucks to Fugianna and Buckwheat. Baker, in an unusual move, spurned traditional cat breeding associations. She trademarked the name "Ragdoll," set up her own registry—International Ragdoll Cat Association (IRCA)—and enforced stringent standards on anyone who wanted to breed or sell cats under that name. The Ragdolls were also not allowed to be registered in other breed associations. In 1975, a group led by Denny Dayton broke ranks with IRCA, intending to gain mainstream recognition for the Ragdoll. This group eventually developed the Ragdoll standard currently accepted by major cat registries. In 1994, a second group decided to leave the IRCA and form their own group due to increasingly strict breeding restrictions. This group later established the Ragamuffin breed. Because Baker owned the rights to the name "Ragdoll", no offshoot groups could call their cats Ragdolls until the trademark on "Ragdoll" was not renewed in 2005. T he defining characteristic of the original Ragdoll is its docile temperament and tendency to go limp when picked up, thought to be due to a genetic mutation or passed down from the Persian and Birman breeds. This has led to the myth that Ragdolls are pain-resistant. Some breeders in Britain have tried to breed away from the limpness due to concerns that extreme docility "might not be in the best interests of the cat." S till, they are generally considered gentle and laid-back animals. The Ragdoll has a sturdy body with a large frame and proportionate legs. A full-grown female weighs 8-15 lbs, while males are substantially larger, ranging from 12 to 20 lbs.[2] The genes for point coloration are also responsible for the blue eyes of the Ragdoll. More intense shades of blue are favored in the show ring. While the breed has a plush coat, it consists mainly of long guard hair, and the lack of a dense undercoat results in, according to the Cat Fanciers' Association, "reduced shedding and matting".[6] Ragdolls come in 6 different colors - seal, chocolate, flame, and the corresponding "dilutes" blue, lilac, and cream. - T he Patterns & Colors T here are three different patterns: * Pointed - One color darkening at the extremities (nose, ears, tail, and paws) * Mitted - Same as pointed, but with white paws and tummy. With or without a blaze (a white line on the face), B icolor — White legs, white inverted 'V' on the face, white tummy, and often white patches on the back. Many people are unfamiliar with the breed "Ragdoll," and even those who know about it often lack detailed knowledge. Some people even think they are just some mix of Siamese. But... they are far from common, and very wonderful cats. What makes them different than all the other cat breeds? - O ther Characteristics Of The Breed 1# They don't shed. They have only one coat in their fur, which allows little or no shedding. Unlike other medium to long-haired cats. Many people buy Persians or other long-haired breeds because they are so soft, and their fur is so beautiful. But...they shed very badly. I've owned a few Persians, and when you touch them, a cloud of fur flies into the air and then into your nose. But with Ragdolls, you get that, but without the shedding. 2# They go limp when you hold them. Like cuddling your cats? Have kids who try to pick them up but get scratched? Ragdolls let you carry them anyway you like. They love hugs, being held on their backs, sides, or any other part of their body. They are the calmest cats you will ever see. 3 # Bringing them to the vet, town, or family house? For most cats, it's a nightmare to bring them in the car to the vet, much less on a leisure trip. Ragdolls enjoy rides. In fact, they follow you to the door and try to come with you every time you leave. M y cat gets in his carrier by the door when we are about to leave. =) You bring them, and they purr, let anyone they see pet them. You can hold them however you like, and even noises that range from carts at the grocery store to cars passing by won't bother them or make them jump out of your arms when they hear them, unlike most cats. Trip to the vet? Ragdolls have a theory that they are pain-resistant. They barely react to much pain (shots, microchips, etc.) They just lay there and watch it happen. They are so easy to care for! - H ow do they react to other animals? 4# Do you have trouble getting your cats to get along with other household animals? Ragdolls think everyone is a playmate! They are sweet and playful with other pets. 5# Like puppies or want a pet that will hang out with you and can take to the park? Ragdolls are known to act like puppies! They follow you from room to room. Sit next to you, and sleep by you! If you're in a room, they are right there with you. Like taking your pets to the park? I bring mine to the park, and he doesn't even need a leash. He just follows me around and plays beside me. (I wouldn't be too comfy without a lease, because kids might try and pick them up, or anything could happen. Just like a dog. So, a leash would probably be a good idea in public.) They love a leisure trip and being with their owners. 6# They are quiet. Their meows are soft and sweet. And they only say something when they need to. - A re They Pretty? 7# Pretty cats? Ragdolls are known for their bright China Blue eyes. And beautiful coats. Their fur resembles a rabbit's, with a pattern and colors consisting of points. They are darker around the ears, feet, face, and tails. Colors can range from creme, seal, chocolate, blue, lilac, and flame points. The rest of the body is lighter. Usually a cream or white. Some have a mix of both. So they make beautiful Cats! - W hat Are Their Size? 8# Cats are too small? Ragdolls range from 10-15 lbs for a female and 15-30 lbs for a male. So they are BIG cats. - A ll Ragdolls are pointed cats. They have color on their ears, faces, legs, and tails, with a lighter contrasting body color. They are usually white or cream. Colors~ * Seal ~ siamese print and color * Blue creme ~ blueish points with creme * Frost ~ light point colors * Chocolate ~ a bit lighter than seal at the points, or dark in the center of the point then fades to a lighter chocolate color. * Tortie ~ Torties can have a variety of colors. A mix of them at the points * Chocolate-Tortie Lynx * Lilic Creme ~ Lilac Points with Creme color in the body * Lilic Point * Red Creme Point ~ a light redish point with Creme in the body * Creme Point * Blue Lynx * Blue Point ~ Blueish points Patterns~ * Colorpoint ~ feet, face, ears, and tail have color * Mitted ~ along with the point colors there are white either along the belly, and/or paws, and/or face. * Bicolor ~ somewhat a mix of colors in the points * Van Pattern~ a white or color in the shape of a "V" on the middle of the face. If you have owned a cat, you know how independent they can be. Everything is on 'their' terms, and at times it almost seems like they own the house. You see them when they want you to, and they like it that way. - W hat makes the ragdoll special is the outstanding personality and character traits that it possesses. Routinely, a ragdoll will follow you around and just enjoy watching what you are doing. They have an inquisitive and thoughtful personality that makes for a great companion. Some people compare the personality of a ragdoll to that of a dog, and this is an accurate depiction. It may be the 'man's best friend' of the cat world, with its social behavior and love of attention. - A ll In All I 've had a few Ragdolls at this point, and they have been the best pets I've ever had! I didn't know much about the breed until I got the first male "Louie" as a kitten. Now I can't stop telling people about them! They are dream cats! A couple of my family members got one of our kittens then friends, because they couldn't resist the breed after interacting with our first Ragdoll, Louie. We couldn't resist the breed and quickly began passing the word around, because I think more people should hear about this breed! It inspired us to opening our Cattery in 2008 / 2009, and has stayed a passion for us ever since. Tests & Quizzes - Personality Types - World Zodiac - Astrology Charts "To know thyself is power" Personality Tests Where personality tests began, and who created them Before we delve into the types of tests you may want to consider, it’s worth understanding how they emerged. Let’s take a look at the history of assessing personalities. Believe it or not, the origins of the personality test can be traced back to the First World War. Charles Myers, a doctor with the Royal Army Medical Corps, documented a case of a 23-year-old soldier who was suffering from ‘shell shock'. While the condition of shell shock would later be better understood as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), the work Myers conducted created a system that would come into widespread use by the US Army. Fast-forward to 1918, and a telegram to the War Department read: “Prevalence of mental disorders in replacement troops recently received suggests urgent importance of intensive efforts in eliminating mentally unfit from organizations new draft prior to departure from the United States.” “It is doubtful whether the War Department can in any other way, more importantly, assist in lessening the difficulty felt by Gen. Pershing than by properly providing for an initial psychological examination of every drafted man as soon as he enters camp.” By this point, the U.S. Army already had neuro-psychiatry and psychology divisions alongside a school of military psychology within the Medical Officers Training Camp. That led to more than a million newly recruited soldiers having psychological assessments. Robert Sessions Woodworth, a Columbia professor, created what would later become the Woodworth Personal Data Sheet for draftees. The brief test consisted of a series of yes-or-no questions that helped to determine each soldier’s traits and psychological state. The widespread use of personality tests during the First World War sparked intrigue in the labor sector. While the theory behind the original assessments was that psychologists could use them to determine whether an individual was suffering from shell shock, it became clear that these tests could reveal more about each individual. Employers soon began using tests to avoid hiring job applicants with neurotic tendencies who were likely to cause trouble in the workplace. However, as the working world advanced, employers saw the value in using such assessments to delve into the characteristics of employees’ personalities. One example is the Bernreuter Personality Inventory, which was published in 1931. The assessment evaluates characteristics such as neurotic tendency, self-sufficiency, introversion or extroversion, and dominance or submission. -Myers Briggs First up, let’s take a look at one of the most famous personality tests. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator was originally developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Briggs. The system is used to identify different personality types based on participants’ answers to a series of questions about their typical behaviors and reactions to given situations. The results are given as an acronym of one of the 16 types of personality the test assesses. For example, “The Protagonist” is otherwise known as an “ENFJ.” An ENFJ result represents that the test taker has Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging personality characteristics. While possessing “The Performer” personality, also known as an “ESFP,” means that the test taker has extraverted, sensing, feeling, and perceiving as their dominant personality characteristics. Within the modern world of business, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator is often used in various sectors to work out which candidates will be a good fit for specific roles. Now, these days you can find a lot of small online quizzes about personalities, but those are quickly made and just for fun. There are more serious tests out there that aren't in the same category. History Vedic astrology was originally used by kings and rulers to determine the best time to go to war. In my opinion, I've found Vedic Astrology to be morte accurate because it is more updated to where the planets and stars are today; Which changes over time. Western Astrology works on an outdated system, so it is no longer as accurate.
